* 2005 National Title of "Kala Suri" (expert in Music) awarded by the Government of Sri Lanka.
He is an active member of the Music Sub Committee of the National Arts Council of Sri Lanka.
* 2004 Award of Excellence presented by the Kaduwela Provincial Council for the contribution to Sri Lankan music.
* 2002 Golden Clef Music Award- Musician of the Year.
* 2000 Presidential Film Award (presented by the office of the President of Sri Lanka)- Best Film Music Score (film-"Raajya Sevaya Pinisai")
* 2000 Presidential Film Award (presented by the office of the President of Sri Lanka)- Best Song ("Sanda Thaniyama" sung by Nirosha Virajini from the film "Raajya Sevaya Pinisai")
* 1993 Golden Clef Music Award- Soloist of the Year.
* 1993 Golden Clef Music Award- Duo of the Year (with Maxi Rozairo on Vocals)
* 1992 Island Music Award- Most Outstanding Duo of the Year.
* 1992 Golden Clef Music Award- Song Of The Year ("Romeo"-which represented Sri Lanka at the World Popular Song Festival in Tokyo.)
* 1992 Golden Clef Music Award- Instrumental Of The Year ("Rain". Incidentally, the video for this instrumental won the "Video of the Year" Award the same year)
* 1983 Dr. A. T. Ariyaratne Award for Social work towards the Cancer Society.
* 1st. Prize Trinity College of Music London for Grade IV Pianoforte.
